Ted Hughes Collection

Manuscripts and published work by the poet Ted Hughes (1930-1998).

The manuscripts comprise four files on Hughes's version of Seneca's Oedipus, with corrected typescript and holograph versions of other poems. The c. 200 printed items include the first publications of his poems in anthologies and periodicals; signed, limited editions and poster poems illustrating Hughes's working partnerships with the artists Leonard Baskin and Gavin Robbins. There are also recordings of Hughes reading his own work.
